When Meret Rehme and Wolfgang Kirchheim joined forces in 2006, they both were still at the beginning of their electroacoustic pursuits. The invention of their own dialect - thu’en - exemplified even then the goals of the BABEL project perfectly: The exploration of the cryptic and symbolic, the crossing of that barrier that separates the conscious from the subconscious. Since then their sound has evolved into a more and more refined state, which now seems as otherworldy and eerie as never.
